Breathing Tour Day 26 at Tapestry Public Charter School

Dr. Maya Angelou teaches “We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value.”

Thank you Teona Ducré, Dean of Students/Health Co-Teacher, for inviting us into your class at Tapestry Public Charter School.

“Tapestry’s mission is to offer an inclusive, individualized learning environment that is academically engaging, both for neurotypical students and those on the autism spectrum, and to create a positive school culture that empowers all students to take possession of their innate talents and become creative builders of their own future.”

Together, the collection of individuals – all with rich stories, the assortment of artwork on the walls, and warm, inviting energy worked jointly to make this room one sacred space.

Together, the collection of our deep breaths led by a student created a deep connection to both our inner geography and outer space.

Together, we discussed the origin of our unique breaths,

the art of breathing,

and the breath of art.

Together, we breathed in the quality of joy,

connected our joy,

washed away energy of tightening, and restriction.

Together, we woke our breath up as we stood tall like a mountain,

rooted and rising.

Together, we inspired our inhales to root down into our unique gifts,

and exhaled as we lifted our energy up and out in lotus breath.

Together, we opened more laterally,

more vertically,

more seriously into the depth,

and more sacredly into the silly.

Together we infused our breath with color,

with texture,

and with quality.

Together we shared space in our expression of our breath,

where we felt it,

how we felt it,

and how we’re going for untying any restrictions,

uncovering how we interfere or block our natural essential, unconditional breath.

Together, we will allow our breath to enter and leave our body more freely.

Together, we will let our new awareness of our breath be a cause for greater unity,

for celebration,

for reclaiming the gift of our breathing.

Thank you Tapestry Charter for sharing how to artfully breathe.

Thank you Kelly Marie Truitt for artfully capturing the tapestry.

Breathe Free,

Lady Inhale
